Drug and alcohol misuse can occur in any workplace, but is particularly prevalent in industries where safety-critical, high-stress work takes place, such as in the construction and trades sector.
This course will give you an understanding of substance misuse and your legal responsibilities regarding it, in order to manage incidents of workplace misuse, as well as the wider issue of misuse, sensitively and appropriately. It will teach you to recognise the physical and social signs of misuse, as well as risk factors contributing to workplace misuse and the potential consequences of it. It will also outline ways of managing substance misuse in the workplace and how to support those who are experiencing it.
